Happy Holidays!

I can't believe Christmas has come and gone and we are on to New Year's already!?? I swear when you get older the days and years for that matter go by so much faster, man oh man! I had a wonderful Christmas this year that was spent in Denver and the mountains. I got some great skiing in and spent some time with my great family. I am still deciding what to do for New Years...I HATE New Years, blech! No thanks!! I am debating going over to a friends house with Mr. Man in tow and just grilling steaks on the Bar-B-Que or just staying home and cooking a fabulous dinner just the two of us and drinking wine. I can't quite decide. What are you all doing for New Years?? Any big travel plans??
I am going to catch you all up on the last couple weeks of festivites through pics...enjoy!

We had a great turn out at our 3rd annual ugly Christmas sweater cookie Exchange...I found the most hideous night gown that I turned into a dress, it was phenomenal to say the least.

PS, I got Mr Man the sorel boots he has been dying for...DORK, lol.
A little ski date up in Vail, and yes we may or may not have similar jacket, I swear I have had mine for a lot longer than he has :)
Another great date weekend up in Breckenridge where we were able to get some great early season skiing in.
A final shot of the great mountain of Breckenridge...really wish I was there right now instead of at work, yuck!!

HELP!!

I am in some serious need of some advice for Christmas ASAP!!! I have to tell you that Mr. Man is the hardest person to shop for ever! He wants floor mats for his new car for Christmas, seriously this is not a joke. Instead of buying him the floor mats (thank goodness I didn't order them becuase they ended up coming with the car) I went ahead and bought him his very own pair of Sorel snow boots. Yes, he is that nerdy and I love it :) However, the most brilliant idea popped into my head this morning that I should buy tickets to go see his beloved Oklahoma Sooners play the Connecticut Huskies at the Fiesta Bowl in AZ. It is close enough that we could actually drive and I found a killer deal on Ebay for some great seats. The only problem is that Mr Man is a little upset with his Sooners becuase of their past bowl game appearances. Needless to say there have not been too many victories in the past couple games he has been too. So do I go ahead and buy the tickets anyway, taking the chance his team will lose and we drove 10 hours to watch it? (Hello Missouri all over again!) Or do I stick with some sweet new rubber boots for the snow??? Help me!!
Thanks!!!

It's That Time Again!

That's right folks, its cookie party time!! This is W and I's 3rd annual cookie party extravaganza and the baking as begun!! We could not be more excited to get together with all of our great friends and share yummy recipes and perhaps a cocktail or two around our beautiful Christmas tree. This is always one of my favorite times of the year becuase it gives everyone an excuse to gather around and eat tons and tons of stuff you normally wouldn't eat. Oh yeah and see people you haven't seen in a long time, that too :) Here is a yummy list of all the great things W and I will be baking/making this year for our party.
-Cream cheese dessert ball (my mouth is watering even thinking about it!)
-Sugar Cookies
-Cake balls
-Cream Cheese with Pickapeppa and wheat thins (sooo good, you must try it!)
-Bruschetta
-Queso (Loves me some cheese)
-Classic Veggie tray
-Puppy chow
-Chocolate covered Pretzels (homemade of course)
-Cream Cheese and Salomi tortillas (sounds weird, but again soo delish!)

That about covers it! I promise I will be back on Monday with a full recap with pictures and everything along with a re-cap of our great weekend spent in beautiful Vail, Colorado! Have a great weekend ya'll!

It's Christmas Time

I can't believe it is already December, time flies!! W and myself are preparing to put up our Christmas tree tomorrow evening, I know a little bit behind the 8 ball on that one, whoops! It has been surprisingly warm here in Denver today so it doesn't feel like the first day of December. Here are a few things I am looking forward to this month:
-Looking at all the festively decorated houses throughout Denver
-Listening to Christmas music at work and not getting glared at for doing so!
-The smell of fresh cut X-mas trees
-How extra beautiful the mountains look with a bit of snow on top
-Eating some extra sweets and not feeling too guilty about it :) (I might have indulged in a few today, shh told tell)
-Baking and decorating Christmas cookies!
-Watching the Parade of Lights go through downtown and seeing the little kids faces light up
-Dew tour in Breckenridge
-Being surrounded by family and realizing how lucky you are to have such great relationships with everyone
-Purchasing presents for all of your loved ones and really putting the time and effort into each individual gift
-Finally CHRISTMAS DAY!!! I can't wait and may have a mental counter in my head that is ticking away as each day passes. Something similar to what we all had when we knew Santa was coming soon! Haha.
Hope everyone has a great first day of December. Great things are coming this month!

That's all she wrote

Very short and quick post today folks, busy busy as usual. However, I would just like to say how excited I am to watch those crazy Sooner football players take on the Corn Huskers in this weekend's BCS championship game! Bring it on! Just a sidenote...I actually had to flip back and forth from the game on Saturday against OSU, it was waaay too intense for my liking. I thought I was going to have to pop a few Xanax, hahaha.

Hopefully you all got you your fill of yummy food and great family memories! Just a few more weeks till Christmas, I can hardly wait!

BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!

Lately...

Pretty much I have just been trying to keep my head above water, busy busy busy bee!! I love to be busy and function much better when I have a million things on my plate, but this may have put me over the edge. Work has been INSANE!!! I do actually enjoy what I do for the most part but we are so far behind on a lot of things and have received so much activity this year that it is darn near impossible to keep up. Anyway, enough complaining!
I have to tell you about my awesome trip up to Breckenridge this last weekend. The weekend before last W, Mr. Man, my friend H, and myself all piled into the car at quarter after six for a fabulous day of skiing. Considering it is still early season (like really really early season) the snow was AWESOME!! We all had a great time and we left a little early to miss the ski traffic, so I was still able to get in an epic nap on the couch! For real is there anything better??

Now onto the good stuff. This past weekend was busy busy as usual. Friday night we went to go see one of the infamous Warren Miller films at a huge theatre here in Denver. Needless to say we were pretty pumped to hit the trails on Saturday and see what we could do! After some yummy mexican food at our fav local spot, D'Corazon, we headed home and called it an early night so we would be well rested for our weekend activities. Saturday we went to Breckenridge and again and skiied like there was no tomorrow. The weather was absoloutely gorgeous, think Spring skiing, and the snow was heavenly! Mr. Man surprised me with a great hotel stay for the evening so we coudl get up on Sunday and ski some more before calling it a day. I tell you I am a lucky girl ;) We enjoyed a fabulous steak and lobster dinner and walked up and down main street until we couldn't keep our eyes open any longer. It is weekends like this when I am truly grateful for being given the good fortune of living next to the great Rocky Mountains. I am looking forward to many more weekends like this last one and also perfecting my skiing skills! :) Happy Turkey week everyone and hopefully you all had great weekends as well!!

It's snowing!!

The first snow of the season started to fall here in Downtown Denver about 3 hours ago! I.AM.ELATED!! Sooo excited!! If it is snowing down here you all can only imagine what it looks like in the mountains!

Love it!!

Friday Fun

This weekend my friend will be celebrating her glamorous 30th birthday filled with good friends, laughter, a limo, and who could forget the yummy cake!!! Can't wait. Also, tomorrow we are heading up for our first official ski day. Pay no mind to the fact that it is going to be 75 degrees here in Denver tomorrow, I honestly think mother nature forgot its September. Tonight is going to be nice and relaxing. Maybe a movie, maybe some wine, things might get crazy, haah, just kidding.
Here is just a little preview of the fun we had on Halloween last weekend, enjoy! Happy Friday everyone!!!

Gus, the Ostrich, needed a little lovin'
All three of us ready to go!

Neeeem-ho!!!

Yes you guessed it, I was nem-ho for Halloween. Let's not mistake ourselves here though, have no fear that I was about the least scantily dressed lady in the bar that evening. I doctored the costume up with a tank and a cardigan as well as some tights, so there was no 'ho' in this girls outfit. Halloween was an absoloute blast though. Mr. Man was one of an ostrich jockey, it was one of those big blow up costumes and let me just say...HYSTERICAL!! His outfit was so much fun. He had a big beak and he kept walking up to complete strangers and sticking the ostrich beak into the patrons beer/drink cups. It made for a very fun night! This is going to be a short little post but I will be back tomorrow with some picture udpates!! Happy hump day everyone!

I know, I know

I honestly have no idea what I do with my days anymore. All I know is I get home late fall into bed and repeat it all the next day. I am definitley the type of person who thrives on a busy schedule, but these last couple weeks have been a test! I have been CRAZY busy at work, and I finally for the first time in 3 years, feel like I am accomplishing something that helps the bottom line of the company :) My flag football team is in the semi-finals and I even managed to play last weeks game with a broken ring finger, (I know of all fingers, gasp, hahaha) from the game before. My chili was totally to die for!! Thanks for the helpful hints and suggestions, its was a total hit!! Albeit I did not win and neither did Mr. Man's green chili entry but there was not a drop left in that darn crock pot at the end of lunch. I travelled to Missouri to watch Mr. Man's beloved Sooners take on Mizzou and lets just say it was one heck of a long 11 hour car ride home after that game :( One of my good friends since kindergarten (not a typo) got married two weekends ago in a gorgeous ceremony and reception. It is still so wild to me that we are not boarding the school bus home and we are starting real life AKA marriages, babies, etc. Sooo wild!

so for no I am just trying to stop and enjoy the last couple days of fall before the first snow hits and I am spending my weekends on the ski slopes!! Can't wait for that by the way. I PROMISE you that I will update this blog and look for some fun pictures of the last couple of weeks of activities.

PS I'm thinking with the cold weather out there today, I"m going to have to make a pot of that delicious chili again! Num num num!

It's Chili Time!!

HELP!! I am due to make a batch of yummy chili for my company's annual Chili Cook off and I don't have a stinkin' recipe!! WHAT you say!?? Well let's be honest here, I'm not exactly Betty Crocker, although I do try very very hard. So I need you all to help me with what you think is the tastiest, most yummy, best fall Chili you have ever made!! It would be greatly apprecitaed!! Plus, I totally need to beat the pants off of some of the more 'seasoned' chili cookers at my office. Thanks in advance!!!

Whats ahappenin'?

Hello out there!!! Sorry it has been a while, I feel like I am treading a ton of water just to keep from drowning...anyone else feeling that way?? Anyway, HAPPY OCTOBER!! We have had the strangest weather here in Colorado. I keep reading everyone's blogs and they are all wishing it would get cooler where they live. Surprisingly, here in Denver we are experiencing an Indian Summer. No joke it hasn't been below 80 degrees, with the exception of yesterday) at all yet this fall. Quite frankly, I am not complaining. Today I went and ate my lunch out on the patio of our office, and it was GLORIOUS!! Love that beautiful 75 degree (no humidity) weather in Colorado.

A little catch up to begin with:
-OU beat Texas: YEAH!!! Let me just tell you that it makes my relationship with Mr. Man that much better when those crazy Sooners beat their opponents :)
-I'm thinking I need to make some new fall wardrobe purchases, my clothes are pretty pathetic at the moment
-I'm going to start a cooking club that meets once a month with new yummy foods to try along with new recepies.
-One of my best friends since Kindergarten is getting married next week Whhhhhat!?? Crazy!
-I went to the circus last night!! I love being the only person within a group of 5,000 without a small child...I'm telling you it was some GOOD people watching! I honestly had no idea the circus was so trashy, all I remember is the yummy snow cones and trying to count how many clowns came out of the Volkswagen Beetle :)
-I have no plans this weekend (YES!)
-I'm putting myself on a new strict budget, which means the fall wardrobe may not be so fabulous :( I have to save my dollar bills!
-I have been try to get Mr. Man to buy tickets for us to go see Cavalia (awesome mix of a horse show and cirque du soliel...google it)...sor far no such luck, but I won't give up :)

Those are about the only exciting, or non exciting for that matter, things going on in my life at the moment. What have ya'll been up to?

I'm a busy Bee

So after my week long hiatus from the 'real' world I am no back in action at work and let me just tell you it has been one heck of a week!! Wowza, I feel like I am barely keeping my head above water these days, but busy is always a great thing. After work on both Monday night and Tuesday night I attended my last Rockies games of the season, resulting in loses from both nights...bummer. The Rox are now officially out of the wild card contention and their last home game was today at 1...bummer!! Whatever will I do to fill my evenings, haha. I have also been buried at work and am taking on some more responsibilities which is great, and overwhelming all at the same time. Still no complaints from me. I am already looking forward to the weekend and its only hump day. However, this weekend is a big one...OU VS TX. I am hoping those good old Sooners can bust out a W for my relationships sake, haha. Here's to hoping the rest of this week flys by as fast as the first part. Happy hump day everyone!

Big Weekend Plans??

I am proud and elated to say that I have almost no plans set in stone for the weekend. Most people would dread this thought, but for me and the last weekend for baseball in the Rockies I am thrilled. I hope to attend at least one of the baseball games this weekend and have a little birthday dinner for my cousin, but other than that, nada!!! Perhaps if I am not feeling entirely too lazy I will jump in my car and drive up to the mountains for an afternoon and check out the beautiful aspen trees changing. I swear to you, it really doesn't get much better than jumping in your car and enjoying a warm fall afternoon with a yummy pumpkin spice latte, and enjoying the gorgeous changing scenery. Does anyone else have any exciting weekend plans that contain more than a couch and some coffee?? Hopefully ya'll do and enjoy yourselves!!

Finally Settling In

Who knew being a short term jet setter was so taxing on your body. I give all of you peeps out there who can travel week in and week out made props, this $hit is mad exhausting!! Of course every ounce spent away from my home was waaay more than worth it. I came home with one heck of a head cold and a lifetime of memories, who can beat that!?? Let's start from the beginning shall we!??
Yeah remember way back when, when I was having a darn heart attack over what I was going to wear to the OU football game and the meeting of the parents, well that is now a distant memory. All went well, as previously stated and we all had a GREAT time!! Next up was unpacking from that fabulous weekend only to literally pull out a bigger suit case from the closet and pack it up for 5 glorious humidity filled days in New Orleans. I lugged my 49 pound bag (yeah whoops) through the airport and happily arrived albeit 3 hours later than anticipated, in the crazy party city New Orleans!! I was there for a work conference the first three days and mister man was meeting me there on Thursday to spend the remainder of the weekend. Unexpectadly we went out and had perhaps one too many of Bourbon Streets infamous Hurricanes and lets just say it made for an interesting Friday morning at my conference. Lived and Learned!

While in NOLA we had no real plans except to eat at the fabulous restaurant that is Commander's Palace on Saturday night. Up until that point the days were ours. We went on a Haunted New Orleans House tour, which was awesome, totally recommend it! Had some choice beverages and toured the city! It was so much fun!!! Commander's Palace did not disappoint and I surprisingly loved the Turtle Soup, whoo go me!! It was so great. There was one downfall...this Colorado mountain girl is soooo far from used to the humidity. I was 'glowing' a lot!! It was so much fun and I will post more fun things about the week to come, but for now here is your wordy post with a few pictures :)
Mr Man and I in front of the oldest bar in N. America (not to mention haunted)
I could've eaten this beignets all day everyday num num num!
Who could resist a picture with a huge a$$ beer!! All class I tell ya!
The awesome haunted tour we went on, bwahahaha!

Just A Brief Stay

I returned from a FANTASTIC weekend in Norman, OK and couldn't have had a better time while there. Everything from the home made cookies fresh out of the oven at Mr. Man's house right when we arrived (at 11PM no less) to the great victory OU had over Florida State it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! Everything went off without a hitch and I can say that I found a great shirt at one of the local shops and I was proud to sport my new OU shirt while at the game. I lucked out big time becuase 90% of the stadium was in the sun the whole time and we had seats in the shade, whooo hooo!! Coming from Colorado and still trying to acclimate to the crazy Oklahoma humidity was quite an adjustment so needless to say the shade was key to me having a good time.

Now I am here for just about 36 hours before I leave for New Orleans tomorrow. Talk about a crazy week! My goodness! I will be there until Sunday where we are hopping on the earliest flight out at 7:30 to make it back in time for the Zac Brown Band concert at the majestic Red Rocks Ampitheatre. What a way to close out the summer right!?? I have a Rockies game tonight and let's not jinx it too early but I do feel a bit of ROCKTOBER fever coming on!! They are on a crazy winning streak and hopefully I don't bring them any bad luck with my prescense! I will try to update while in the French Quarter eating benigts and such, (haha, just kidding). Here are some pics from the great weekend spent in Norman!
Check out this stadium that holds something like 80,000 people and they sell out EVERY game!
Just having some brewskies on the street before heading in. It was seriously like Vegas but for football. I love drinking on the street!
For real, one of the main streets is named after me!! Haha, same spelling and everything!
My crazy hair hadn't hit the humidty yet, so still looking almost presentable :)
Have a great week ya'll and if anyone has any great must do/see/eat in NO, let me know!

It is upon us...

I have my bags packed and I am ready to go!! Not to mention I have almost passed out from all the anxiety that has been building up for the last month, its a tough pill to swallow ladies. I have meticulously planned out my outfits and have allowed Mr. Man to talk me into finding a good OU football shirt while in Norman, we will see how that turns out :/ W is at home with the kitties so heaven only knows what kind of trouble they will be getting into while momma is away, haha. I have primped and tweezed and whitened to the best of my ability so I guess that means I am ready to board that United flight to Oklahoma City. Now the only question is...am I ready for Sooners football?? I'm used to tailgating in a dirt parking lot outside the stadium lucky to make it into the game before half time, apparently that is not the case with OU. It is commonly referred to by Mr. Man a religion in OK. No joke he has even been trying to teach me some of the OU chants...oh lawd. I will be sure to give you an update as soon as I return on Sunday afternoon. But until then, have a great weekend everyone and wish me luck. (fingers crossed)

Mom for a Weekend!??

So for my labor day weekend I will be knee deep in spider, guitars, and pools! I'm watching the two little boys that I used to nanny for in the summers during college and some of high school. Can I please tell you how old I feel now that the oldest one is in high school!?? What!? Where does the time go. Their parents decided to go on a last minute trip to New York and I am responsible for another persons well being...YIKES! I have spent the last couple of days trying to figure out fun acitvites for the boys to do that they will both enjoy. Not an easy task for a freshman in high school and a 4th grader. I'm thinking maybe take them to the butterfly pavillion to the new tarantula exhibit (again YIKES) and then perhaps the water park or go carts for the activity on Sunday. It is supposed to be nice here in Denver so I'm trying to think of activites that gets us all out of the house and keep everyone entertained. This could get hairy. I only see these boys about every 6 months or so, so hopefully they will behave and we can all enjoy a weekend of fun!

In other news, there are two little college teams who are prepping for the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown tomorrow afternoon. Unfortunately, due to previously stated engagements I will not be partaking on cheering on my little CSU Rammies, but you better believe I will be sporting my CSU shirt all day tomorrow! I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend and enjoys the beautiful last days of summer!
Go RAMS!!!

The Search Continues...

Thanks for all of your help with picking out the best Sooner outfit, however, the search is still on. After talking to Mr. Man, quite possibly for waaaay too long about an outfit, it was decided that I will just go to what they call their campus corner on Friday afternoon and find some fabulous shirt to wear on game day. Here is the funny part, I may or may not have been on the search the last 7 days for the perfect pair of either shorts or jean capris to wear. Seeing as the weather is supposed to hover around 100 degrees I decided shorts was the way to go. Has anyone else ever tried to find shorts at the end of August/beginning of September?? Yeah not easy. Finally after scowering the internet high and low and stopping by a couple of stores I found the perfect pair of shorts!! I may or may not have accidentally purchased both pairs but I wasn't sure which color of shirt I would find in Norman. I found a great basic pair of white shorts, if I chose a red shirt, and a pair of khaki shorts if I choose a white shirt. Best part is they were only $15 bucks a pop. Thank you Old Navy!!! So yes, some of you may think I am obsessing over what I am going to wear and you would be correct in this statement, but hey a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!! With that said 8 days and counting, yowza!!

P.S. I can't believe fall is literally right around the corner!?? Where did summer go?

Thursday, August 19, 2010

HELP!!

So in a matter of 22 days (but really who's counting?) I am going to Mr. Man's home town of Norman, OK to go to an OU football game. Needless to say I'm just a bit anxious about this visit. I met his parents when they came out here a couple of weeks ago and everything went fine, but is weird to say I might be more nervous about meeting his friends!?? YIKES!!! Not only that but I am staying with his parents on Friday night!?? Holy freakin' cow!! The funny thing about this whole situation is I can totally deal with the parentals and the friends, however, what the heck am I supposed to wear to the football game?? This will be the first impression I give to his friends and I can't come off looking like a total dork. I'm thinking I'm either going to wear black capris, of which I already own, or cute jean capris (hello Nordstrom sale!) So here are my fav shirts to choose from, and please please please help me pick one, I'm FREAKING out!

And We're Off!

This weekend I am heading to beautiful Beaver Creek, CO to help celebrate the marriage of a good friend. I am so so so excited for this weekend. Mr. Man and myself have decided to make a weekend out of it and we are heading up today (11:30 to be exact) and I'm ecstatic! We are planning on leaving straight from work this afternoon and heading up to Vail to do a little mountain biking. Let's be real here, Mr. Man will be flying off boulders and mountains, etc, and I will be sipping on a glass of wine at the bar at the base of the mountain...much more my style. We will be dining at one of my favorite restaurants in Vail, the Ore House, stuffing our tummy's to the brim of steak and wine. It will be a fabulous weekend!! I hope you all have fun plans this weekend, get out there and enjoy the last couple weekends of summer!

My Little Houdini

After an extremely tiresome and less than enjoyable dinner with some old friends (a whole other blog post), I finally got home for the first time around 9:30 last night. It was an exceptionally trying day at work and all I wanted to do was snuggle up with my little fuzz butts. Remember them? Banks and Hitch, the little kitten rascals. So I get home and am immediately greeted by Banks (not unusual,) however, it was extremly unusual for my little black cat not to be by his brohters side in rubbing up on my legs. I immediately went into panic mode and searched every nook and cranny, even the dishwasher mind you, and I couldn't seem to locate the furry rascal. I paniced some more, called W, and then went downstairs to see if my concierge had any reports of a little black cat roaming around the halls. Turns out the little nugget must have slipped between either my legs or W's legs while we were leaving and ran out into the hall. One of his favorite games, LOVES it. He was found by some cranky old lady on my floor who was trying to swat him with a broom!! Can you believe it? I was so upset but I went to the back room where they were keeping him to find a shaking and terrified little Hitch. The relief I felt was unbelievable!! I couldn't believe he had been roaming the halls all by his lonesome for 3 hours. Bad bad kittie momma. Lesson learned, always check your surroundings for little Black kitten houdini's. Never know when they are going to strike again!
Hitch's typical sleeping position.

Of course one of the little gray trouble maker!

I rode a camel...

Oh hey there...yes its me, and yes I stink big time at this blogging thing most of the time...whoops! Time for a life update, I suppose so here goes. First of all the Brown Palace wedding was magnificent, couldn't have been anymore perfect if you ask me. Mr Man and myself had a great time and I'm pretty sure we made that open bar of the brides well worth the money...whoops. Since then I have been beyond busy just bustling around town and trying to get some things accomplished before the summers end. Some of these activities include the Renaissance Festival, yup we went, soaking up every minute of Mr. Man being in town, some pool days, Lots of Rockies games and of course the Tim McGraw and Lady Antebellum concert this last Saturday. I swear I keep telling myself that once I reach a certain date things will calm down, however, there is no end in sight. Seeing as it has been so long since I have blogged I will update you with pictures of the past few weekends and fill you in as to why the name of this post is I rode a camel, its a good one.
Anywho, this past weekend was filled with tons of fun and sun. Mr Man's parents and grandparents were in town to visit and they wanted to meet me...gulp! Turns out there was no need to panic and we all had a blast. We attended the Rockies game on Friday night where the Rox broke a MLB record for the most consecutive hits in a inning crushing the cubs a whopping 17 - 2. Yeah we rocked their socks off. Saturday was filled with errands and then the amazing concert that was Tim McGraw and Lady A. Ummm, holy AMAZING!!! Loved every minute of it!! Sunday it was off to the last game of the Rox vs. Cubs series with all of Mr. Man's family. I was burned to a crisp and the Rockies pulled out another fantastic win, sweeping the Cubbies! So all in all, a fabulous weekend spent with great friends and many great memories. Unfortuantely due to the BF's parents being in town I was unable to attend a good friends bridal shower that W threw for her, but I heard it was magnificent and I can't wait for the Beaver Creek wedding in 2 weeks...woah two weeks!!! Awesome! Now onto the picture slide show of the last couple of weeks of my life, prepare yourself!

Another wedding the weekend prior, high school friends!

Beautiful girls at the cocktail hour...is her dress not amazing?

Some of the girls and the tea.
Mr. Man and myself and the wedding

Now onto the more pressing matter of the camel but first a little bit more fun!
Face painting anyone?

Clearly I have never seen anythign soo amazing!
Wouldn't be complete without a pirate picture!
And finally at the Renaissance Festival you can ride a camel and clearly I cannot pass up that kind of opportunity...it was breathtaking!

Tea Time

So as mentioned previously I have another wedding to go to this weekend. This one is probably one of the larger more elaborate weddings I am going to attend this summer and it all starts TODAY!!! Thank goodness I only work half days on Friday's which allows me to be able to partake in the tea she is throwing for all of the people involved in the wedding. It will be held at the fabulous Brown Palace Hotel, which is a beautiful historic hotel right in the heart of the city. It is known for its great tea and it should be absolutely wonderful just to have a girls tea. How fun!! Shortly after that is the rehearsal dinner where I am sure to stuff my tummy to the brim of delicious wine and yummy pastas only to not be able to fit into my dress tomorrow...fingers crossed everyone. Then the big day. The grand daddy of them all, her wedding day!! I am really looking forward to this and promise to post pictures of everything! I am sooo excited. Not only that but Mr. Man is flying in for the weekend as well, double whammy. Its going to be a busy busy weekend and of course we are topping it off with a Rockies game on Sunday. BTW did anyone else see them sweep the Cardinals?? Haha, GO ROX!

Happy weekend ya'll!

Rain Rain Go AWAY!!

I had heard on the radio in my way into work yesterday that the weather was supposed to drastically shift from a comfortable high of 88 yesterday to 68 degrees today and rainy! Yuck, no thank you, I do no approve! So low and behold when my alarm went off at the ungodly hour of 5:45 this morning sure enough it was drizzling rain and miserable to try to get out of bed. I could have curled up with those two little snuggly kittens and gone right back to sleep. Quite honestly I could have stayed there all darn day today. Now you see, I love myself a good summer thunderstorm, however, when the sun does not peek out from behind those clouds all day long it gets to be a touch depressing. Picking up what I'm throwing down? Oh well, life goes on and so does the rain apparently. It is supposed to clear up by tomorrow morning, yipee!! I love summer and how much easier it is to get out of bed when the sun is out and already above 65 degrees when you get in your car. So here is to warmer, sunnier days tomorrow! Happy hump day ya'll!

The Wedding Itch

First of all please excuse my lack of attention to this pathetic little blog, I've been just a bit busy with 7 weddings this summer...oh my!! My first wedding of the season was actually in Nashvile and the same weekend as the bachelorette party in Phoenix so Iwas unable to attend. However, the pics of the bride were AMAZING!! I wish I could have gone :( I had a wedding of a good friend that I have known since 2nd grade get married on Friday at a really neat Tuscan Villa. More pictures to come. Anyway, the bachelorette party that weekend was sooo much fun. I swear to you that I can no longer look at Vegas bachelorette parties the same way. A nice relaxing weekend in sunny Scottsdale was awesome! I loved loved loved the great drinks that we were served everyday and not feeling like you have to go out to the typical Vegas hot spots. This party leads me into the next wedding which is this weekend. Its going to be at the gorgeous Brown Palace. It will be a weekend of great fun filled with a tea party, a great rehearsal dinner and a gorgeous ceremony at one of the grandest churches in downtown Denver. It will be quite an exciting weekend. I have also participated in a number of gorgeous showers and I will have to download pictures to show you all. I can't wait for the remainder of the summer which will be filled with more weddings, baseball games, bachelorette weekends, NEW ORLEANS, Beaver Creek and other fun little weekend trips. Is it so crazy to anyone else that the summer is half way over?? Man, time flies when you're having fun. I will post a few pics of the past couple of weeknds and I will have to upload more and actually continue to post (gasp) Happy short week everyone! Oh and get ready for a total picture overload...

Let the weekend begin!

Cutest idea EVER!
Kind of a crummy picture, but you get the idea.
Just a mini group shot with the beautiful bride and her cousin. SOOO FUN and I can't wait for this weekend's festivities!

Drama for your mama!

I may have been a tad over dramatic about the volleyball tournament last weekend especially considering my team WON!!! I know I'm still in shock myself. I actually only had to hit the ball a couple of times due to the fact that my coach kept the two best guys on either side of me so I wouldn't panic..phew. All in all, it was a great time! It is not yet 100% postive quite yet, however, the Denver office is thinking about sending my team (#1 duh) to the Houston volleyball tournament in a couple of months! All I have to say is those sweet little Houstonites better watch their backs, we are coming to town :)

On a totally different note I would have to say that this last weekend has been one of my favorite in a very long time! It was nothing special per say, although I did get to spend quite a chunck of time with the mister man, which you will will never hear me complain about. A little bit of pool time, some golf, good dinners, good movies, great weather. Does it get much better than that?? Didn't think so. This weekend is going to be kind of calm around the little apartment. W is out of town for a bachelorette party in Vegas that I decided to opt out of and instead am attending a different bacheorette here in Denver. The theme is pub golf, should be awesome. Other than that, a whole lotta nothing, and I am pretty darn pumped about that. I am just gearing up for the crazy weekends to come, filled with wedding celebrations, pool parties, bachelorette parties, showers, etc. Needless to say I will be taking in every ounce of free time I have this weekend and relax to the fullest extent possible. Quite honestly its not that hard for me to accomplish. Stay tuned for another overly dramatic post about my company softball league that started last night...now that is a riot!

Bump, Set, Spike...umm what!?

Oh boy! Ya'll this is no joke. Somehow I got talked into participating in my company's volleyball tournament this afternoon. The people that are participating in this 'fun' event are not kidding around either. They have held several practices at lunch time and after hours to try to improve their teams skills so they can win the coveted title of Volleball champions. We are talking INTENSE. I, however, am not so intense. In fact, I quite loathe playing volleyball. I am of rather a short stature (5'2" on a good day) and therefore, have never really excelled in this particular sport. I have put a smile on for the several practices we held while I scream and run the other way from the ball, whoops, but have no fear I am there and willing. This is going to be a disaster. I'm picturing a volleyball flying at my face AKA the money maker, and I leave the sand pit crying hystercially and being driven a way by a paramedic in an ambulance. Dramatic? Nah. Anywhoo wish me luck, it should be fun. Plus, there are pina coladas involved, whooot whooot!!

"Take me out to the the ball game"- A little weekend recap

As many of you know I am a huge baseball fan! Not for the acutal baseball, but for the atmosphere that comes along with going to the field. A hot summer day spent by the pool, followed by a quick shower, a basball hat, your favorite Rockies shirt, the smell of grass, and of course the hot dog and beer! Does it get any more summer than that?? Luckily, I have managed to find a great group of people that enjoys going to the baseball games almost as much as I do :) W and I used to live 4 blocks from the beloved Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, and if we needed something to do on a Sunday afternoon you better believe that was the first place you could find us. This weekend I feel very fortunate to have been able to go to not one baseball game but 2!! The Dodgers were in town and that is always a great series to go watch, and on Memorial Day weekend no less! Am I blowing your mind yet?? Haha. So anyway, I was able to scrounge a couple of club level seats from a co-worker of mine and Mr. Man and I headed to the ball park. Honestly, it could not have been any better. Perfect weather, perfect company, and unfortunately the Rox lost that night, but hey you can't win them all right? Saturday we opted out of the game and went to see Robin Hood and tried a delicious new(er) restaurant and we were certainly not disappointed. The food was delicious and I even enjoyed the movie! Holy cow, I'm exhausted even writing all of this stuff that I managed to cram in this weekend and I'm only till Sunday, just kidding. Sunday was, we shall say...interesting. Mr. Man was dead set on climbing a 14er and I am not one to back down so I said 'sure!' Probably should have thought that through a little bit better, but have no fear we got lost....driving! Hahahaha!! We ended up driving, not hiking, to the top of Mt. Evans. Regardless the views were breathtaking and it was a great experience! We finally got back into Denver after a 5 hours of driving around 11 AM and decided we needed to go to another ball game! It was awesome, the weather was once again beautiful, sat in the sun and then we were able to meet up with W for some drinks and bar fun!! All in all it was a great weekend. Unfortunately the Rox lost the series with the Dodgers, but there is always next time. Monday, was another beautiful day filled with BBQ's family and good old fashion fun! Loved it! Did ya'll do anything exciting for the long weekend???
Some pics of the fateful 14er attempt...oops.
