I'm a professional

...a professional bowler that is! Yes, I am in a bowling league and yes, I LOVE it. The league is sponsored by my work and it is a league of a lot of young professionals in the oil & gas industry. It is a BLAST!! The league is every Thursday night and I am extremely saddened to report that next week is our last week :( I have had so much fun laughing and getting to know some of my co-workers, I am honestly not sure what I am going to do with my free Thursday nights now... bummer. I just have to brag a little bit and say that I scored a 164 last night, what what!? Hah, that is my high score for the season so I have to give myself a pat on the back every now and then :)
On a totally different note let's talk food shall we? I love me a good piece of meat. I'm not talking any meat, I L-O-V-E a good steak. My mouth is salivating just thinking about, yum! Fortunately for the residents of Denver the town puts on a 5280 week where a whole slew of restaurants get together and offer set menus for a whopping price of 26.40/person or 52.80/person. Get it 'the mile high city' 5,280 feet? Just checking ya'll were still awake.

This is pretty much my favorite week of the year. I'm being serious here too! Tonight we are venturing to Del Frisco's for a mouth watering steak and yummy wine and tomorrow we are trying out a new restaurant called Trappers. Apparently you cook your steak on a lava rock...totally awesome!! If I parish due to a heart attack of red meat overload I 100% blame it all on restaurant week. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Spring is just around the corner!

Skiing, Bingo, and a concert

The title pretty much sums up the last 5 days of my life. I feel like I have been on the go non stop since this winter began, a busy bee if you will. Last week I decided I had enough of living in Colorado and not utilizing the beautiful mountains a mere 1.5 hours away. I grew up skiing and since I began to work I have not been nearly as much as I would have liked. So I gathered up a nice little crew and we set off for the great Rocky Mountains. Unfortunately, we got about an hour behind schedule Saturday morning which put us in the worst ski traffic I have been in!! I'm talking 3 hours of stop and go all the way up to Copper Mountain..not that exciting. Luckily the poeple I went with had good senses of humor and we made the best of it. When we finally got up there the snow couldn't have been better. I skied with one other person while W and another friend skied together. AMAZING!!! Unfortunately we all had to leave the mountain earlier than we wanted to because we had a Bingo ball to attend that evening. That's right, formal Bingo. So we all got gussied up and headed on over to the ball. It was great charity event that promoted an awesome organization and I was happy to be a part of it. I think its safe to say everyone had a wonderful time. After a Saturday like that I needed a week to recovery, not gonna happen though. My work generously provided me with a ticket to the Elton John/ Billy Joel concert on Monday night!!! Holy freakin' cow!!!!! We had a huge box up on the press level and I sang and danced my happy little heart out. I am completely wiped from all the activities and am excited for a weekend with no plans for once. Perhaps see a couple of movies and lounge around the house. I have actually considered getting a subscription to netflix for the month so I can catch up on all the seasons of lost I have missed. I would like to refresh my memory as to what the heck is going on becuase quite frankly I'm lost. (Sorry for the cheesy joke, but lets be honest...) Haha.
Here are some pictures from the EPIC weekend last weekend. Happy hump day ya'll!

TGIF!!

For real ya'll. THANK GOODNESS ITS FRIDAY!!! Today is kind of a neat day for myself and my company, it's BONUS day!!! Each of our respective groups managers walk around with red evevelopes in honor of Valentine's day and they basically praise you for 5 minutes or so and then move on to the next office. It has changed a lot since I first started here due to the sheer volume of employees we know have. When my first bonus came around it was the Prez himself that delivered the checks and sang your praises which was always pretty neat, but this year was almost as good. Now that I have that check it is burning a hole in my pocket. I need to use all of restraint in my body not to run to the mall and blow the newly acquired cash money! Good thing I have no valentine (except W of course) otherwise this money would be long gone. I don't know what it is but I have the great ability to go completely and utterly overboard with buying gifts. Good for the recepient, bad for me :) I'm trying to save my dolla bills for the 6 weddings I will be attending this summer, so lets hope that mall doesn't call my name too loudly :)

On a different note, W made the most delicious, not to mention precious, Valentine's cookies that I passed around the office today. Check em out.

Do any of you have any special plans for the weekend of LOVE?? Haha. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Get me outta here!!?

Funny story... I'm walking with 5 of my co-workers today at lunch minding our own business when one of those obnoxious (I mean very sweet) people on the street handed me a flyer for goodness knows what. Of course I am the only one in the group who is handed it. So I nonchalantly carry on my conversation with my co-workers until we get to another crosswalk where I glance at the sheet. It's a flyer for a singles charity event...GREAT!! I am pretty much 1 of, oh lets see, 1 single person in my office and its like these sweet, caring, girls knew exactly who to target out of the group of all married women..MOI!! Everyone got a great laugh out of it, including myself. If only those girls knew :)
Another busy weekend on the home front an sooo ready for a vacation!! OH.MY.GOODNESS. It is frigid cold here, dreary and quite honestly not that pleasant. W is starting a 9 in a row nursing shift and I am left to my own devices for V-day weekend. Could you sense the excitement in my voice? I am honestly just looking forward to having a fabulous 3 day weekend hopefully filled with some relaxtion, some movies, and perhaps if I am really motivated some skiing. I'm thinking I am going to have to be REALLY motivated to have the last one happen, but you never know, things could get wild!

W's birthday was a huge success. I will post more pictures later but leave you with this one of her darling cake. I was joking with her that this is more of 'Lindsey' cake than a 'W' cake but it was cute and sooo darn yummy.
I may or may not dream about W's birthday and my birthday all year long just so we can get a cake from the best bakery in town. It's the little things, right!? Have a great day everyone!

Where does the time go?!

Seriously!? How is it February already and how I have not blogged in 10 days!?? Wow! Needless to say I have been burning the candle at both ends over the last couple weeks or so. Jam packed weekends and trying to catch up on the weekends chores during the week is no easy feat let me tell you. I'm positive that after this week it will be back to our reagularly scheduled programming. I have been a busy bee trying to help my uncle find a new home in Colorado from Reno and have spent many a hours hopping from house to house hoping that the next one we walk into will be 'the one'. I swear I had no idea finding a house could be so darn complicated, whew, what a whirlwind. Hopefully, the one we found on Saturday and re-visited on Sunday will do the trick and we can stop that nonsense. I have been trying to catch up with old friends that I may have neglected in 2009 and maintain the ones I have. One of my New Year's resolutions, which I mentioned on here, was to rid my life of the toxic people in it. Honestly, I feel less stress and less anxiety about saying no to social gatherings with those individiuals and it makes for a much better weekend!!! This week is jam packed as have been most of January's weeks. However, this week is espeically awesome due to W's 26th birthday!! Wow, how are we already that old?! Crazy! Her actual birthday is on Thursday and we will do dinner at our favorite italian restaurant outside of town Cafe Jordano's and then we will have her friend celebration on Friday night...I'm sure I will have some absolutely stellar pictures from that evening :) Also, on Saturday of this week we have planned to go to the Mizzou Vs. CU basketball game where we will obviously be rooting for Mizzou, BOO CU!! I can't help it, I'm a ram fan through and through. More friends birthday celebrations on Satruday night and then hopefully some recouping for Valentine's week/Denver's restaurant week the following week on Sunday. I'm telling ya'll I am exhausted even writing this post. I also have a favor to ask all you readers out there. I have yet to get W a present...any suggestions? The girl has got every handbag and outfit possible, any 'unique' suggestions are welcome! Thanks and hope everyone has a great Monday!
