I"m too excited to sleep!

Seriously that is no lie! I have been soo busy this week I don't know where I leave my keys 99% of the time. I'm losing my darn brain! There is one big reason why I may be losing my brain though and that's becuase I'M LEAVING FOR THE KENTUCKY DERBY TOMORROW!!! Oh.My.Gosh, I can't even stand how exhilirated I am. This is one of those things on my list of things to do before I die! I can't wait. As it turns out my best friend from college lives in Kentucky and works on a Chimpanzee Sancturary so we will hang out with her tomorrow night and hang with the chimps (hopefully my face doesn't get mauled), and then head into Louisville for some seriously preppy fun!! I"m talking critter shorts, seersucker, linen loving folk. Just my style. I do have one fateful confession to make however. I decided I could not stomach spending the money on a ridiuclous hat that I would never wear again. I understand it is a once in a lifetime thing to go to the derby but I couldn't do it. So I will be sporting this fabulously tacky number! What What!!! Don't be jealous, its awesome!! I love it. I will taking more pictures than I have ever taken so you will all get a lovely dose of the derby VIA my blog!! Wish me luck and the horse I bet on too.

Can't wait till I see the ever famous Churchill Downs O.MG.

Something I will not be sporting :)

Here is what I will be sporting :)
Of course I will be drinking plenty of these tasty mint juleps...YUM!!! Have a great weekend ya'll!

Birthday cake time!

I love love love birthdays. Pretty much for the sole reason that I allow myself to eat as much birthday cake as humanly possible without too much guilt. I know bad, but I can't resist some yummy red velvet cake....mmmmm!!! So for the last 2 years W and I have decided to splurge on our birthday cakes and get them made at a local bakery and let me just tell you there are OHMYGOSH I might have just accidentally eaten 5,999 calories in a piece of cake that was totally unneccesarily HUGE!!!! They are amazing to put it simply. It is always the same flavor, red velvet. Oh my gosh I just found myself staring off into space picturing myself at my refrigerator with fork in hand telling myself this is my last bite 10X over. Oops!! Anyway, we never seem to have our ducks in a row and end up just buying one of these delicious monsters straight from the cake. But this year my friends, I'm having it made up to my specifications. I'm talking red velvet cake, buttercream frosting, pink mock seersucker fondant, hot pink quarters (get it the 'quarter century old'), and some pink whales with perhaps some lobsters thrown in for good measure. I'm sooo excited!!! We are off to Geteaux this afternoon to finalize the order look out!!! My jeans may not be fitting quite like they used to as I apporach my half way to 50th birthday! Totally worth it!! Here is a picture of my cake last year...sooo good!!!

Flabbergasted!

Pretty sure I botched the spelling of the word flabbergasted, ha! Oh well, on to the reason for the flabbergastedness, yes that is a word in the dictionary of Lindsey. So for quite some time now I have toyed with the idea of spilling the beans of a super secret relationship VIA my blog. I finally feel like I have a legitimate reason for letting the cat out of the bag. I'll go with a touch of background first just so you can fully understand my complicated 'love' life. First off, I L.O.V.E. everything southern. The style, the life, the clothes, the ACCENTS, oh my! I have always fantisized about dating a sweet southern gentleman but they are hard to come across in this crazy square state. Fast forward, I met a sweet attractive, southern gentleman. He's got the accent to boot, what what!! He travels A TON for work, I'm talking he is really really lucky to be home in Denver for more than 2 weeks out of a month. Bummer for me. Here's the flabbergasted story. He was gone all last week and all last weekend, he came home Sunday night through yesterday morning. Boo, only 3 days before another two week stint away. He knew I was really bummed about him having to leave so early and the two of us not really being able to spend a lot of time together. I got a bizarre phone call yesterday morning right around when his plane was taking off from a local florist saying he had flowers at my front door!!! UMMM WHAT!!?? Flowers!? I have never received flowers that weren't for my birthday or for surgery, I was beside myself. Of course I could not wait till after work to see what he had gotten me (assuming they were from him), so I ran home during lunch to be very plesantly suprised by these puppies!!

I didn't even know what to say. Sweetest guy ever. He may just be able to stick around for awhile longer. I definitely have been sportin' a perma-grin for the last 24 hours and don't see that going away any time soon. :) Just had to share that exciting bit of news with ya'll. Hope your having a fabulous week, and it is almost FRIDAY!!! YEA!

7 Days in a Yellow Crayon Box

The yellow crayon box being a yellow bug of course!! Once again my beloved mini cooper, which has less than 20,000 miles on it and is only 3 years old, had to go to the shop. It was for the same thing that it was for last time which is beyond frustrating. The darn seat belt chime WILL NOT turn off. I almost jumped out of my own moving vehicle when it happened. So I promptly called the dealership and gave them a piece of my mind and told them I would be bringing the car in immediately. Unfortunately for me they did not have any loaner mini's available so they stuck me in a yellow volkswagon bug. I felt like a fool! Haha, you could see me coming from at least a mile away, not to mention trying to cram 4 people into that tiny little thing (it feels smaller than my mini) was quite the show for people on the street :). So it is now seven days after I took the car in and I am just now able to go pick her up. Of course they tell me that somehow the seat belt chime is tied to my low tire pressure light and I need to replace my tire, even though they repaired it and think the repair will hold. So now I'm out $220.00 for a new tire, no joke!! I am not happy about this and unfortunately I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, no good. The poor technician that has had to deal with me has had his head ripped off more than once, oops, but this girl is pissed! We'll see if throwing an extra $200 at a perfectly good car will keep her in line for another 6 weeks when my lease is up. Any suggestions on what my next car should be?? I'm thinking of an Acura RDX...keep your fingers crossed. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Dance Party!

This past weekend ended up being one HUGE dance party for pretty much 48 straight hours. Let me tell you, I'm still trying to recover. Between the spectacular patio weather we had Friday afternoon, the Rockies home opener, the Garth Brooks cover band, and another baseball game, I'm EXHAUSTED!!!
Let me start from the beginning. I got off work on Friday afternoon around 11, (did I mention I only have to work half days on Friday's?), went to grab a quick bite to eat with a friend who was staying with W and I for the weekend and then the weekend started!!! We all showered got ready to head downtown for a night of debauchery and fun. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. I'm pretty sure even when the Rockies made it to the world series there still weren't as many people downtown than there were on Friday afternoon. The girls and I posted up at an Irish bar right on the patio and enjoyed hot dogs and beer!! My favorite!! Once we had enough of the downtown scene we headed straight to the country saloon (yes its a saloon) and sang out hearts out to Garth Brooks biggest hit. What a night!!
We were all a little slow moving on Saturday morning but we had another big night ahead of us. There were six of us that ended up going to the best gay bar in town and having some drinks before we had to pay $6.00/beer at Coors Field. We all fell into cabs and headed for the stadium. I wish I would have taken some pictures of where we were sitting because I had the most amazing view of Brad Hawpe's booty!! Not too shabby! The game ended up going into extra innings (I'm talking 14 total for the game) so we headed over after the tenth and finished watching the game. This is where the fun started. We met up with my brother and his friend and went C.R.A.Z.Y!! We were dancing fools. I was soo sore the next morning! What a work out. I guess after a dance extravaganza like that I could justify the hot dog I had at the game. :) All in all, it was one of the busiest weekends I have had in awhile and I couldn't have enjoyed myself anymore! Here are some stellar (sensing the sarcasm?) of the dance party and concert. Happy Tuesday everyone!

It's officially hot dog season!

Yes, you read that right!! I love, love, love baseball season, otherwise known as hot dog season in my house!! Today is the Rockies home season opener and unfortunatley we could not get tickets to today's game but you better believe we will be at the rooftop bar right next door to it listening to the roar of the crowd as the Rockies kick some bootaahy!! W and I got tickets to Saturday's game about 3 months ago and we are so excited to go with our 2 great friends, both sisters as well, so we aren't completely missing out on opening weekend.
On top of the Rockies opening games this weekend I have plans to go with my dad to the car show tomorrow morning which should be a blast! I love going to the car show and my dad is such a mellow guy he loves to walk around and hang out with me :) Can't wait!! Tonight we have plans to go to a Garth Brooks cover band here in town called According to Garth. Apparently the band is supposed to be top notch so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It should be a great weekend, with great company, and great weather! Soooo excited to munch on a hot dog for lunch too :) That's totally on the biggest loser diet...right!?
Here are some pictures from great Rockies games in the past.

I hope ya'll have a fantastic weekend and go out and enjoy the start of hot dog season!! Goooo ROCKIES!

Not again...

What a doozy this last weekend was. It was crazy busy from the time I stepped out of my office on Thursday afternoon up until my 2 hour nap on Sunday. Yeah that's right...a 2 hour nap! However, my weekend was completely exhausting. Fortunately my company always gives us Good Friday off so I had a 3 day weekend to boot...whooo hooo!! This is going to be a long one so settle in for the long haul!
Thursday afternoon my office gave me the company's tickets to the Nuggets game, 6th row behind the bench, holler! Somehow we scored biiig time and landed next to this great couple who apparently played college ball with the Trailblazer Andre Miller, and had 2 extra friends and family passes to meet all the players after the game. Being the generous people that they were they gave them to W and I. Let me tell you it really puts you in your place when you are standing next to a professional sports playing measuring over 7 feet tall! WOAH!! I literally came up to their nipples...yeah picture that. So after an exciting day on Thursday I layed relatively low until the infamous Kamber (Katie and Amber b-day party) that was to occur on Friday night. IT.WAS.AMAZING. There were some old friends present whom I hadn't seen in a while and a great time was had by all. So great in fact that I managed to leave my credit card and ID in some unknown location...big whoops! I spent a large part of Saturday morning trying to figure out where I could have left it considering we only went to one bar and came to the conculsion I must have been sitting on it in the cab and not realized it...sweet! Oh well, water under the bridge at this point. Saturday had a great mexican dinner with my aunt, uncle, cous, and W and saw 'Clash of the Titans' (maybe a 3 out of 5 stars), made one last pass by the bar to make sure they didn't have anymore of my belongings and headed home.

W and I both had a wonderful Easter Sunday. This post wouldn't be complete without a crazy mom story thrown in there so here it is. I opened up my plastic eggs in my Easter basket (yes I'm nearly 25 and still need an Easter basket) and I received 1 dime and 1 quarter. In another egg I received a crinkled up 1 dollar bill. Flashback to the 100 1 dollar bills from Christmas anyone??? That leaves me with a basket full of a whopping 1 dollar and 35 cents. I can sense your jealousy!! Happy Tuesday everyone, enjoy the pics from the partahy!
Even some old sorority friends showed up to play!
Kaite and I at Emilio's! Those margs can be dangerous!
Just having a grand ole time!
